Business Owners Insurance Quotes
Small businesses have a lot of risks in common. Years ago, the insurance industry took note of this, and created the Business Owners Policy, or BOP. A BOP is a package of coverages designed to meet most or all of a small business' basic insurance requirements.
What Business Owners Insurance Is Not
A BOP, by design, is a very general-purpose policy. Normally, a BOP includes a property and casualty section, some general liability coverage, and a few other elements. It is not tailored for any particular business.
Many specific classes of business are sufficiently common that the insurance industry has evolved special packages targeted at the risks specific to those industries. In many cases, if such a specialty package is available, it will meet your business requirements more thoroughly than a BOP.
Who Needs Business Owners Insurance?
A small business that has very common types of exposures might be well served by the coverages provided by a Business Owners Policy. Remember, though: it's your business. Read the policy closely to make sure all your exposures are covered.
Things To Think About
Any unusual or any highly exposed activity, like livery or trucking services, should be addressed by a special insurance policy. Make sure you give a lot of thought to the types of exposures that confront your business before you consider the simple coverage provided by a BOP.
